What this notice covers
This notice covers this website, cyburon.com, and email you send to us.
It does not cover our products, which handle data differently and have their own notices. If you use Dormouse, the relevant notice is the Dormouse privacy policy.
What we collect on this website
Very little, by design. This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no forms, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sets no cookies. You are not asked for any personal data in order to read it, and we do not build a profile of you.
Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when a page is served — such as the IP address making the request, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser’s user-agent string. These server logs exist to deliver the site, keep it available and protect it from abuse. We do not use them to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else.
If you email us
When you write to contact@cyburon.com we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it only to read and reply, and to keep a record of the correspondence.
Please don’t send us sensitive personal information by email — it isn’t a secure channel and we don’t need it.
Our legal bases
Under the UK GDPR we rely on:
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure and maintain this website (server logs), and to respond to correspondence you begin.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records to comply with the law.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf — principally our website host and our email provider. They act on our instructions and are bound by their own obligations. Some of them may process data outside the UK; where that happens, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
How long we keep things
Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then deleted or aggregated. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for the matter it concerns, and then deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@cyburon.com.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Children
This website is aimed at a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through it.
Links to other sites
This site links to places we don’t control, including dormouse.app. Their privacy practices are their own, and this notice does not apply to them.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
